Brunei Darussalam, the Abode of Peace has been recently a popular tourism destination. There are so many interesting places in Brunei which always get visit by tourist from many parts of the world. Some of them are Omar Ali Mosque, The Mall and Water Village.

According to the Brunei Tourism, Brunei has recorded approximately 1 million tourists in 2003.Based on estimates derived from hotel occupancy rates and on market intelligence gathered from inbound operators, Brunei Tourism estimates the number of bona fide leisure and business tourists to be around 100,000 in 2003, with a 3-day average length of stay. Most of these tourists originated from the short- and medium-haul markets, though a significant portion originated from long-haul markets, mainly UK and Germany. Brunei Tourism’s objective is to increase international tourist arrivals by a minimum average rate of 7% yearly, as well as to increase average length of stay and expenditure.

Sultan Omar Ali mosque situated in the downtown of Bandar Seri Begawan is the landmark of Brunei reflects the religion of Brunei, Islam. it is built of Italian marble, gold mosaic and English stained glass. The mosque is named on behalf of the 28th Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien. He is known as the architect of Modern Brunei.

Brunei as a popular tourist destination

Kampong Ayer
Early European visitors to Brunei described Kampong Ayer, or Water Village, as the Venice of the East. Today, visitors continue to be fascinated by these traditional and historic houses built on stilts over the water, spanning the greater part of the Brunei River.
Kampoung Ayer is home to about 30000 people and is accessible by boat or by wooden bridges from Bandar Seri Begawan.


On the "road" in the Water Village
The houses in Kampung Ayer are joined be a maze of interconnecting timber walkways, and visitors are free to roam at their leisure. The government has provided every modern facility for the residents, including schools, clinics, police station and mosques. A visit to Brunei would not be complete without a trip to the this unique and intriguing place.




The Royal Regalia Building Armoury Display in the Royal Regalia
The Royal Regalia Building is located in the heart of Banda Seri Begawan. It was built to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the Sultan's accession to the throne in 1992. The museum is home to a collection of royal regalia, including the royal chariot, gold and silver ceremonial armoury, the jewel encrusted crowns used during the coronation and a replica of the throne, which is used by the Sultan on state occasions. There is also an exhibition which fully documents the history of the constitution of Brunei.
The building is open to the public every day of the week (on Friday the opening hours are shorter than the rest of the week) Shoes should be removed prior to entering the building.




The Istana Nurul and Taman Persiaran Damuan

The most impressive site in Bandar Seri Begawan is the Sultan's Royal Palace, known as the Istana Nurul Iman. It is the largest residential palace in the world, and its golden domes, vaulted roof and riverside setting make it a spectacular subject for photographs. The palsce is open to the public only during Hari Raya, when residents and visitors alike have the opportunity to greet the Sultan and members of the Royal family.

The best view of the Istana is from Persiaran Damuan, which is a park along the river bank off Jalan Tutong. It has walkways, a well-equipped playground and features six outdoor sculptures by ASEAN artists, on the theme of Unity in Diversity. The Persiaran Damuan is popular for jogging and has several foodstalls in the evenings.



Tasek Recreational Park



Tasek Lama Recreational Park is a popular national park in the midst of the capital city or Brunei, Bandar Seri Begawan. With its green nature all preserved, it is a perfect haven for jungle trekking enthusiasts, outdoor fitness or those simply longing for a stroll.








This is called a 'Pancuran' in Bruneian Malay. It's cool, fresh and crystal clear water springs from the hill side.







The final stop after climbing a tiring hill & trekking the jungle. Enjoy the light and refreshing mist from the waterfall to relax the tense muscles.




This pleasant jungle park is located a few minutes walk from the city centre. Take Jalan Kebangsaan out of the city centre past the Sheraton Hotel. About ten minutes walk from the Sheraton you will see a sign on your right in between two tall blocks of grey and red appartments indicating Jalan Tasek Lama. Turn right here and continue along this road to the entrance of the park. A red archway inscribed 'Taman Peranginan Tasek' signals the entrance.

Bandar Seri Begawan


About 60,000 people lived in the capital city of Brunei. Bandar Seri Begawan is the only town of any size. The city is neat, clean, and modern with wide roads and extravagant public buildings. Tourists will feel awed with the Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, one of the most impressive and modern mosques in the East. This giant golden-domed mosque was originally built in 1958 near to the Brunei River in its own artificial lagoon. The capital city also sports some excellent museums. There is the traditional Brunei Museum and the lavish Malay Technology Museum. Here, you will get to see exhibits on water village architecture and the various technologies used by the people who lived in them. Should you wish to visit the Sultan's magnificent palace, you must plan your visit towards the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. The Istana Nurul Iman is open to the public then.

If you are looking for a happening nightlife, this is not the place for you. The streets are almost deserted at 9 pm. Overall, the people are friendly and easy to get along with.

In Brunei,they offers a wide variety of attractive places to be visited and experienced. The rainforest and National Parks are rich in flora and fauna. Its most magnificent mosques, water village (traditional and historic houses on stilts), rich culture and Jerudong Theme Park are among the uniqueness of Brunei Darussalam.

The government is now actively promoting tourism as an important part of its economic diversification. It would like to see a target of 1 million-visitor arrival by the year 2000. From January to August 1999, the statistic recorded 405,532 visitors visited Brunei Darussalam.

It will be a popular destination maybe, after years and years of planning and developing.. Actually, Brunei is now developing into a tourist site. It can obviously seen through some government actions:

  • THE government aims to increase tourism-related employment from about 5,350 jobs in 2004 to not less than 8,000 jobs by 2010, according to Brunei's most recent economic blueprint.
  • Under the National Development Plan (RKN) 2007-2012, tourist arrivals staying in paid accommodation are expected to increase by at least seven per cent annually. Average hotel occupancy rates are also expected to increase to 50 or 60 per cent by 2008.

It is a good place to start and a big step towards success to Brunei. However the following studies states that Brunei still has a long way to go:

  • A comprehensive, 10-year economic forecast brought out in 2006 by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) forecast that Brunei's travel and tourism industry would be among the lowest in demand in the South-East Asian region
  • The report defines South-East Asia as comprising all 10 members of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) as well as Papua New Guinea.
  • It assessed Brunei's share of the world travel and tourism market at 0.0% in 2006, with a future growth rate of 2.9% a year between 2007 and 2016.

Do children suffer when both parents are working?

A typical working parent spends just 19 minutes a day looking after their children, official figures revealed yesterday.

The startling research shows the devastating impact that working full-time has on children who hardly see their parents.

With less than 20 minutes spent with their parents every day, this is only enough time to eat a quick breakfast together or have a couple of bed-time stories.

The Office for National Statistics looked at nearly 4,950 people over the age of 16 in Britain to find out what they do all day.

The findings make grim reading for working parents who already worry that they spend too much time at work - and too little at home.

Parents who work full-time spend just 19 minutes every day "caring for [their] own children", according to ONS's "Time Use Survey", published yesterday.

A further 16 minutes is spent looking after their children as a "secondary activity", but this means that they are doing something else - such as the weekly supermarket shop - at the same time.

According to Maire Fahey, editor of Prima, said: "In the 1980s, we thought we could have it all and aspired to high-flying careers and happy families.

"But the cracks are starting to show. Family life is suffering and something has got to give."


Recent research indicates that parental work stress has implications for the quality of family interaction and, in turn, children's and adolescents' adjustment. Studies in two distinct genres are reviewed: investigations relying on global reports of work demands, family dynamics, and child and adolescent adjustment and studies focusing on within-person comparisons of family interaction on days characterized by high and low work stress.

The effects of parental work stress on children's and adolescents' adjustment appear to be indirect. Work stress is linked to parents' feelings of overload and strain, which in turn predict lower parent-child acceptance and higher conflict, processes that in turn are related to less positive adjustment of children and adolescents. In the face of high work stress, withdrawing from family involvement may be adaptive in the short run but ultimately problematic. The strength of these associations depends on parents' personality qualities, parents' coping styles, and work and family circumstances.

super size me ia an award winning movie whereby it proves that if american eat fast food all day there will be a highly percentage that the people will get obese. fast food contains a lot of fats in it. this will go directly to your whole body in which the fats will get stuck in your artery, your whole body.if we should consume fats and get a bit of exercise then it will be fine. but if we should take in excess fats but never do any exercise you'll end up being one of the biggest and fattest people in the planet. e.g america has already more than half a million people whose diets are mostly 1. fats 2.fats 3.fats 4.fatty acid and glycerol 5.more fats and more fats.....

Working parents are dividing their attention between their career and their adolescent, and in many cases the one that suffers is the adolescent. A working parent is prone to become over-worked, stressed out and chronically tired. This all leads to a lack of focus on their home-life.

According to Belle, "Millions of school-age children in the United States get out of school each day before their parents get home from work.What these children do in these hours of solitude may be unbeknownst to their parents. Some participate in after school programs, some are looked after by others, but many are by themselves."

In response of Belle's statement,Shellenberger concluded that "it is this relationship between working parents and their children that may ultimately lead to struggling, troubled teens."

Due to their heavy work, they tend to neglect their children problems and strange attitudes. Parents seem to have the feeling that once their child is old enough to stay home alone by themselves, they are then grown and the parents work is done.

In solution, Gardner cited that "Parents are realizing that their adolescent children need more supervision than they had been previously receiving. This may mean coming home from work earlier or creating special meeting times to talk. "

In addition, who says that chilren of working parents need more family time? Its actually depends on how the parents use those little faily time. No matter how busy the parents are, there must be 3 seconds when parents and children can exchange hugs. Actually, when children has working parents, they tend to cherish those little of family time more than those children whose mother or father is unemployed.

Therefore, in conclusion, the way the children suffer depends on how the parents act. Loving their children doesn't mean 24 hour supervision on that child. It means you really have tos how them that you love and cared for them. By giving these children signs of support and love through 3 seconds heart or 5 seconds saying 'I-Love-You' does a great change. By helding a 10-minutes talk every evening to know what your children did on that day and regular meeting and outings during work holidays and day-offs are also another form of accompanying your children.

He stated that When both parents are working they spent less time together with thier family, they get stress beacause of their bundle upcoming works and eventually they fough at each other to relieve the tense! which often resulted in a divorce. one million children are affected by divorce each year. Emery believes too many couples say they don't want their children hurt by their divorce, but the children still end up stuck in the middle, almost always facing discomfort. One of his examples is about a vindictive couple whose children are hurt by their anger over the failed marriage.

Five Reasons Why Both Should Work
From this analysis, I may have led you to conclude "no." But it's not that simple. Thus far I have presented only half the issue, so let me come to the defense of women who have young children and who work outside the home. There are four reasons why it can make a lot of sense for both Mom and Dad to work:

Reason 1: Protect Your Career
If the wife gives up her job, she could do irreparable damage to her career, because her colleagues (competitors?) who don't take five years off continue to climb the corporate ladder.

Reason 3: Don't Forget Retirement Benefits
Women in the U.S. typically retire with lower Social Security benefits than men, because women tend to work fewer years. Ditto for company pension plans; if you quit work for five years, you'll pay the price later in the form of a sharply lower retirement income. So forget about the small loss today; staying home with the kids can pose a huge economic loss later.

Reason 4: The Parents Mental Health
Some people just are not well suited to stay home with their kids full-time. They need adult interaction. For example, a working mom, had a job whose income was so low she actually spent $35 week more, net of child-care expenses, than she earned. "Well, it's cheaper than therapy!"

Reason 5: To Improve Your Child's Development

Point well taken: The value of interpersonal communication skills for a child shouldn't be dismissed.
So, should you work or stay home? Clearly, it's not an easy choice. Yet, more and more employers are offering flexibility that might help make it easier than before for both parents to work. Job sharing, flexible work schedules, and working from home are some of the options available in today's workplace that you should explore as you try to resolve this issue.
My point is that you have a choice. Too many parents do not realize that options exist. Too often, parents assume they must work without considering the alternative. To be a success with your financial planning, you always must examine your options. And proper planning is perhaps nowhere more important than when it comes to raising your children.

''Supersize Me''






"Supersize Me" is a Super Size Me is an Academy Award-nominated 2004 documentary film written, produced, directed by and starring Morgan Spurlock, an American independent filmmaker. Spurlock's film follows a 30-day time period (February 2003) during which he subsists entirely on food and items purchased exclusively from McDonald's, and the film documents this lifestyle's drastic effects on Spurlock's physical and psychological well-being and explores the fast food industry's corporate influence, including how it encourages poor nutrition for its own profit. During the filming, Spurlock dined at McDonald's restaurants three times per day, sampling every item on the chain's menu at least once. He also super sized his meal every time he was asked. He consumed an average of 5,000 kcal (the equivalent of 9.26 Big Macs) per day during the experiment.



Being obese is a self responsibility. People should know the consequences of too much intake of carbohydrate foods espeially fast foods. The government should also be responsible for these problems.



Morgan Spurlock, the director slash guinea pig at the center of this film tapped a rich, cholesterol filled vein when he tackled the subject of fast food in "Super Size Me."What begins as a less than inspired, offer my body to science experiment, turns out to be an intelligent vehicle for removing the clown make-up from Ronald McDonald's face and revealing a shocking ugliness.We follow Mr. Spurlock as he stomachs three meals a day for a month of nothing but Golden Arches fare and learn, along with a team of stunned doctors, that the fast food diet reeks havoc on the body, well, "fast".Weight gain, diminished libido and liver damage are just a sampling of Mr. Spurlocks physiologically woes.The McDonalds Corporation's fiendishly calculated marketing strategy to hook children on happy meals has a logical place in the film, but this has been transparent for some time and isn't what buoys the real power of "Super Size Me. " Ultimately it's the contention that fast food is the engine driving so many to obesity, disease and early death that makes this film compelling. Yes, it is also the government's responsibilityon the health of their citizens. By conducting random, and regular inspections on foods sold in restaurant and especially schools are very important. especially in schools, where children's choice of foods are limited in the school canteen. Not only that, they tend to have lower awareness on the importance of nutritious diet. They tends to go for oily french fries and junk foods rather than nutritious fruits. Their meals usually consists of higher carbohydrates and calories which as a result from low level of exercise, turns into fats and leads to heart diseases and obesity.

When you see a doctor, they would say obesity is very dangerous and those say its good for you would only meant this

MacDonald is so famous due to it supersize meal served by supersize people! Seriously unthinkable 'phenomenon'? When we think back, most of the people in the movie doesn't know what calorie is, although they try hard in giving the perfect answer.. nice try by the way...




YUMMUY........ They look delicious aren't they? Iwant to have supersize please! Most people prefer supersize meal for their grimbling stomach. Supersize meal...supersize satisfaction. If you go to the McDonald everyday you will get addicted to it, i dare you! That's what o learned from the movie in which the person who do the supersizing tend to eat more to get that sensational feelings of relaxation.


How much calorie and of many tons of sugar are there do you think if you have a supersize meal at McDonald? I don't know myself but obviously you can tell from the preservative they use and the addictive they added associate with cheeses, meat beef, fantastic top droppings and etc.






This guy have play an important role in running the business. With his smiley face he could attract you guys to go near him pretend that you are are not aware of the bomb he hold in his hand and be just like him....

Fad diet- are they an effective way in losing weight?

Fad diets are dangerous for teens and children

The truth about weight loss and long-term weight maintenance is that there is no glamorous solution or quick fix: you must decrease calories, especially those that come from fat and sugar, and you must increase physical activity.

Fad diets generally offer a way to diet that supposedly prevents any “suffering.” This might entail suppression of the appetite through herbal supplements or other diet pills; special eating plans that cut out or decrease dramatically one of the major food groups; special diet foods that have supposed miracle properties (e.g., cabbage soup diet, grapefruit diet); special wraps or other treatments that “melt fat away…” Most people who have yo-yo dieted over the years know about all the variations and twists on the miracle lose-fat-without-effort types of fad diets.
Many of these fad diets create risk factors that can be especially worrisome if your health is already compromised by long-term obesity or weight issues. Diet pills can cause mood swings, racing heart, and high blood pressure. Herbal does not mean safe, as we know from the news stories about misuse of the herb ma huang and the deaths that results (also known as ephedrine).

A well-balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables combined with consistent daily exercise is still the healthiest and most effective way to achieve weight loss with long-term maintenance. Many people find that by participating in a structured program, they are better able to monitor their progress and then the maintenance of weight loss. The healthiest programs offer a wide variety of foods and emphasize foods “close to nature”—such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and lean meats.

In terms of physical activity, strive to do something every day. You don't have to run a race. Thirty minutes of moderately brisk walking every day will be a great start. You will find after a few weeks that you feel a drive to push yourself more because the benefits of exercise impact your daily life so dramatically. You may being to notice that if you skip a couple of days your mood changes; you may even feel a little “down.” Exercise produces endorphins, chemicals that enable us to have an overall feeling of well being, and even elation (many new exercisers report that they are surprised by how up their mood is after they finish a brisk walk. They marvel that they never knew how GOOD it feels to exercise!).

These fad diets are far from the ideal diet and it should be noted that they aren't balanced and the best way to lose any weight is with a careful well balanced diet.

Now for some tips hehe.... I'll share with you some recipes...... But before that....I am not responsible for any health issues that should arise because you try any of these diets.

3 DAYS DIET


Instructions:
Drink 4 glasses of water a day.
You can add any of these spices and condiments: salt, herbs, lemon, pepper, vinegar, Worcestershire, soy sauce, mustard & ketchup to your foods.


DAY 1
BREAKFAST
Black Coffee or Tea w/1-2 packets of Sweet & Low or Equal
1/2 Grapefruit or Juice
1 Toast with 1 Tbsp. Peanut Butter
LUNCH
1/2 Cup of Tuna
1 Toast
Black Coffee or Tea w/1-2 packets of Sweet & Low or Equal
DINNER
3 Oz. any lean meat or chicken
1 cup green beans
1 cup carrots
1 apple
1 cup regular vanilla ice cream


DAY 2
BREAKFAST
black coffee or tea w/1-2 packets of Sweet & Low or Equal
1 Egg
1/2 Banana
1 Toast
LUNCH
1 cup cottage cheese or tuna
8 regular saltine crackers
DINNER
2 beef franks
1 cup broccoli or cabbage
1/2 cup carrots
1/2 banana
1/2 cup regular vanilla ice cream

DAY 3
BREAKFAST
black coffee or tea w/1-2 packets of Sweet & Low or Equal
5 regular saltine crackers
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 apple
LUNCH
1 boiled egg
1 toast
black coffee or tea w/1-2 packets of Sweet & Low or Equal
DINNER
1 cup tuna
1 cup carrots
1 cup cauliflower
1 cup melon
1/2 cup regular vanilla ice cream

CABBAGE SOUP
This diet has gotten a lot of press in the media of late and it is an ideal diet for everyone that likes cabbage, hmmm, how many people is that, well, until they make the cheesecake diet, you have to try this one.

Recipe:

The cabbage soup can be eaten any time you get hungry, and you can eat as much as you like, oh joy, you can have all the cabbage soup you want! You can have it as often as you want. Just say that a few times and see if it sounds good to you, because the more I say it the hungrier I get.
Ingredients:
6 Large Green Onions
2 Green Peppers
1-2 Cans Diced Tomatoes
1 Bunch Celery
1 Package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1-2 Cubes of Bullion (if desired)
1 head cabbage
Cut vegetables into small pieces and cover with water, you can use V-8 juice also. Boil fast for 10 minutes. Reduce to simmer and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. Season to taste with salt, pepper,parsley, or whatever spice you want to add.

Diet Plan

Day One:
Fruit: Eat all of the fruit you want, but you can't have Bananas!! Eat only your soup and the fruit for the first day. You can drink unsweetened teas, cranberry juice and water.
Day Two:
Vegetables: Eat all the fresh, raw or cooked vegetables you want. Try to eat leafy green vegetables, and avoid dry beans, peas, and corn. Eat as much as you want, all the veggies you can handle and all the cabbage soup you want. At dinner you can have a baked potato with butter. You can't have any fruit on this day, so just stick to the vegetables.
Day Three:
Mix Days One and Two: Eat all the soup, fruits and vegetables you want, but you can't have a baked potato.
Day Four:
Bananas and Skim Milk: Eat as many as eight bananas and drink as many glasses of skim milk as you would like on this day, along with your soup. This day is supposed to lessen your desire for sweets.
Day Five:
Beef And Tomatoes:
Ten to twenty ounces of beef and up to six fresh tomatoes. Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water this day to wash the uric acid from your body. Eat your soup at least once this day. You may eat broiled or baked chicken instead of beef (but absolutely no skin-on chicken). If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish for the beef one one of the beef days (but not both).
Day Six:
Beef and Vegetables: Eat to your heart's content of beef and vegetables this day. You can even have 2 or 3 steaks if you like, with leafy green vegetables and no baked potato. Eat your soup at least once.
Day Seven:

-Obesity is an excess proportion of total body fat. A person is considered obese when his or her weight is 20% or more above normal weight. The most common measure of obesity is the body mass index or BMI. A person is considered overweight if his or her BMI is between 25 and 29.9; a person is considered obese if his or her BMI is over 30.

"Morbid obesity" means that a person is either 50%-100% over normal weight, more than 100 pounds over normal weight, has a BMI of 40 or higher, or is sufficiently overweight to severely interfere with health or normal function.

-Other things can affect our weight, such as family history or genetics. If one of your parents is obese, you are 3 times as likely to be obese as someone with parents of healthy weight.3

Your family's and friends' lifestyles can also affect your weight. If your family or friends eat a lot of high-fat or snack foods, eat at irregular times, and skip meals, you probably will too. And if they are not physically active, you may not be either.

Other things influence your weight and whether you are physically active, including:

1)low self esteem.Being overweight or obese may lower your self-esteem and lead to eating as a way to comfort yourself. Repeated failure at dieting also can affect your self-esteem and make it even more difficult to lose weight.
2)Emotional concerns. Emotional stress, anxiety, or illnesses such as depression or chronic pain can lead to overeating. Some people eat to calm themselves, to avoid dealing with unpleasant tasks or situations, or to dampen negative emotions.
3)Trauma. Distressing events, such as childhood sexual, physical, or emotional abuse; loss of a parent during childhood; or marital or family problems, can contribute to overeating.
4)Alcohol. Alcohol (beer and mixed drinks) is very high in calories. Drinking alcohol may cause you to gain more weight around your stomach.
5)Medicines or medical conditions. Some medical conditions and medicines may also cause weight gain. Examples include having Cushing's syndrome or hypothyroidism or taking antidepressants or corticosteroids.

HOW TO PREVENT OBESITY?

Stay active. The most common way to prevent obesity is to live an active lifestyle. Simple activities, such as taking the stairs or walking to the store, can help tremendously. Many people also enjoy going to the gym. A local health club membership can be a wonderful way to stay active and socialize with other like-minded individuals

Eat healthy. The FDA recommends that the average person consume 2,000 calories per day in foods such as dairy, meats, breads, fruits, vegetables and legumes. Tailoring your diet to meet these FDA standards is the most effective way to prevent obesity.


3)Watch your weight. You should weigh yourself once a week to monitor your health. If you notice that you are starting to gain some weight, you should take appropriate measures to lose that weight. Investing in a scale for the home is recommended.

4)Drink water. Many times people will mistake dehydration for hunger signals in the body. The FDA recommends drinking eight to 10 glasses of water per day. Water cleanses and detoxifies all the impurities in your system.

5)
Only eat when you are hungry. Studies have shown that those who are naturally thin only eat when they are hungry. Only eating when your body signals you to eat can be a great way to prevent obesity.

6)
Keep junk food out of your house. The lure of sweet junk food can sometimes be too much to bear and you may succumb to the temptation. Be smart and don't buy it at all!

Obesity are advancing rapidly on only in the developed country but also in the developing world as well … Obesity is no longer an exclusively Western problem. Researchers say weight problems also pose a serious health threat to people in developing nations, particularly children. Until recently, famine and infectious diseases// have been the biggest threats to the health of poor people in developing countries. Now, rapid shifts in urbanisation, technology, food processing and even leisure time in developing countries are causing a rise in obesity levels.


Food systems causes of obesity :

· Liberalized international food markets
· Food subsidies that “have arguably distorted the food supply in favour of less healthy foodstuffs”
· Marketing, especially “food advertising through television [which] aims to persuade individuals—particularly children—that they desire foods high in saturated fats, sugars, and salt.”
· Healthy eating often being more expensive than less healthy options, (despite global food prices having dropped on average).


How people live, what factors make them active or sedentary are also a factor:

* The increasing reliance on cars leads to physical inactivity- the increasing sophistication of transportation also means they are less likely to face rigorous journeys to and from work

* even after work or school, you tend to prefer to watch TV or play on the computer rather than get some exercise which our bodies eventually store the extra calories as fat instead.

* also, skipping breakfast causes us to eat more during lunch time- in short, we are eating more and exercising less. It is a combination that kmakes us more susceptible to excess weight-gain.

* It reasoned that as incomes rises and people become better off and move to urban areas, they become dependent on processed foods that are often in fat and sugars.

*in addition, as more and more women aork away from home, they may be too busy to shop for, prepare and cook healthy meals at home.

consequences of being overweight:

* Impairement in his/her social life and interaction
- Being bullied in school for being bigger and wider than the other student

* lower self-esteem
- They can't fit into trendy clothes of join the more popular games, so they isolate themselves

* To adults
- Particularly at thier workplace. Thier health problems often take thier time away from work, and they have to spend a lot on medication and treatment
- in addition, they always tired and fatigued, which affects thier work performance as well
- also, they spend long hours in the same position at thier work desk and limit thier physical activity


Obesity may seem a daunting thing to conquer. Bur the remedies seem simple enough: consume less fatty and high calorie food and drinks and eat more nutrtitious foor, Also get enough exercise. Sounds easy to do, but many have found these practices hard to implement in thier everyday lives. They require commitment, determination and discipline. However they may be hard to maintain, they are essential to achieve a healthier, better and fuller life.

obesity is a problem for people around the world. people who are obese might have syndrome x or just enjoy eating. people being obese have more chances of dying due to a coronary heart disease because all the fatty acid will be stuck near the ventricle where you heart is pumping blood. and because of this faty acid lies on the ventricle we can get heart disease more easily than sick people.

once you're fat..ooopppss..obese..you'll be label as supersize people in supersize land. yes being obese may give you more energy but being more obese is just too dangerous. it's like killing yourself for no reasons. you just eat and eat and eat and then you die. bye bye fatty. people who are obese should go out and exercise. do not just stay in and eat all day long wiping you're sobby ass saying ' its not my fault that i'm fat..i was born like this..i tried to exercise..but i can't i just can't'...no you should call a friend and you know jog a little, lay off the beefy bits and eat healthy. try salad with less oily bits..


obese people do not be afraid because wheater you're fat or not on the outside you're still beautiful on the inside...that goes for skinny person too..i'm not trying to be bias. people who are obese we are not ugly..those who says we're ugly means thay are jealous of our supersize body..which they can never obtain.

Estimated body fats can be measured by using BMI (Body Mass Index), which is weight (kg) per height squared. These are the values of BMI's of different catagories:



  • A BMI less than 18.5 is underweight

  • A BMI of 18.5–24.9 is normal weight

  • A BMI of 25.0–29.9 is overweight

  • A BMI of 30.0–39.9 is obese

  • A BMI of 40.0 or higher is severely (or morbidly) obese

  • A BMI of 35.0 or higher in the presence of at least one other significant comorbidity is also classified by some bodies as morbid obesity.
