Killing and Letting Die
I have several criticisms of James Rachels thought experiment on the moral identity of killing and letting die in his article "Active and Passive Euthanasia". To summarise the thought experiement, two men desire the death of their respective six-year-old nephews in order to gain an inheritence. They know their nephews are bathing, so they intend to go into the bathroom and drown them. The first man enters the bathroom and drowns his nephew. The second man enters the bathroom and notices that his nephew is drowning already from hitting his head, so he stands and watches. The intuition this is intended to evoke is that these acts are morally equivalent, and that there is therefore no difference between killing and letting die.

Euthanasia is the practice of medically-assisted death. It is illegal in most countries. It is a controversial subject, not only because there are many different moral dilemmas associated with it, but also in what constitutes its definition. At the extreme ends of disagreement, advocates say euthanasia, also known as physician aid in dying, or physician assisted suicide, is a merciful method of death. At the other end are opponents of euthanasia, who may consider this method as a form of murder.
The term euthanasia comes from the Greek words "eu” and “thanatos” which combined means “well death” or "dying well".
Pain and suffering are part of being human. It is what makes us strong.
There are 2 types of euthanasia:
- Active Euthanasia- occurs when the medical professionals, or another person, deliberately do something that causes the patient to die.
Doctors are urging health regulators to consider allowing the "active euthanasia" of severely disabled newborn babies. "active euthanasia" should be considered for the overall benefit of families who would otherwise suffer years of emotional and financial suffering.- Passive Euthanasia - occurs when the patient dies because the medical professionals either don't do something necessary to keep the patient alive, or when they stop doing something that is keeping the patient alive.

GM food
GM food refers to the crop plants created by hunan using biological molecules. The modified of crops is the job of genitic engineering. GM food or Genetically modified food is very very useful for our daily life.. By GM food, the crop can produce its own pest resistance, herbicide tolerence and disease resistance so it could save economically and financially to us. But then it could bring harmful effects to us especially allergeic.
